1. What Alvara Is
Alvara is an app that lets you see and use the records your campus or institute keeps about you — attendance, timetable, library, hostel, transport, notices, desk requests, complaints, and any other services your campus or institute offers you through the app — and an optional student network called Alvara Private Network.
Alvara is a service provider to your institute. Your institute decides what records exist, what they say, and which features its students can use. We hold and process them for your institute.
2. Who Can Use the App
- The app is only for students at institutes that use Alvara. You cannot create an account yourself — your institute creates it and gives you your Alvara UID and a temporary password.
- The app is intended for students aged 15 and above.
- Alvara Private Network is only for students aged 18 and above. See .
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian gives consent through your institute's admission process.
3. Your Account
- Your Alvara UID is yours and is not reused by anyone else. It stays with you even if you change institutes.
- You choose your own password when you first sign in. Keep it to yourself. Do not share your password or your login code with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Alvara or from your institute — neither Alvara nor your institute will ever ask you for either.
- Your account is for you alone. You can use it across your own devices (such as your phone and tablet), but do not let anyone else use it and do not use anyone else's.
- When you sign in on a device you have not used before, we send a one-time code to your registered mobile number. Tell us at once if you receive a code you did not ask for.
- If you think someone has your password, change it in the app and use Log out of all devices.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you lose access, contact your institute — only your institute can reset your password.
4. Your Institute's Role
- Your institute creates your account, maintains your records, and can end your enrollment with it.
- Your institute decides which features are available to its students, and can disable or restrict features. This includes Alvara Private Network.
- Requests about your academic and campus records — to see them, correct them, or have them removed — go to your institute. We act on your institute's instructions for those records.
- What happens when your enrollment ends is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: your Alvara account and your Private Network stay yours.
5. What You May Not Do
You must not:
- Share your account, or use anyone else's.
- Try to reach data that is not yours, or get around the app's security or access controls.
- Copy, scrape or bulk-download data from the app.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, or run automated tools against our systems.
- Test our security without our written permission.
- Interfere with the app's normal working, or place unreasonable load on our systems.
- Use the app to break any law, or to break your institute's rules.
- Pretend to be someone else — another student, a member of staff, or Alvara.
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything containing malware.
6. Content You Provide
Some parts of the app let you write or upload things — desk requests and complaints and their attachments, quiz and form answers, book reviews, visitor details, any other services your campus offers, and, if you enable it, posts and comments in Alvara Private Network.
- You keep ownership of what you create. You give us the permission we need to store it, display it to the people it is meant for, and back it up — no more than that.
- You are responsible for what you upload. Only upload things you have the right to upload.
- If you upload someone else's details — for example a visitor's name, phone number and photo — you confirm that they have agreed to it.
- Do not upload identity documents. Do not upload Aadhaar, PAN, or any government identity document anywhere in the app — for yourself or for anyone else. Where the app asks for a photo (such as for a visitor), upload a photograph, not an identity document.
- Attachments you send with a desk request or complaint may be viewed by your institute or our team to help resolve your request, assist with support, or maintain security.
7. What You May Not Post
This applies everywhere you can write something, and especially in Alvara Private Network. Do not post:
- Anything that harasses, bullies, threatens or targets another person.
- Hate speech, or content that attacks people for who they are.
- Sexual, nude, or sexually explicit content of any kind.
- Content that promotes violence, self-harm or dangerous acts.
- Exam papers, answer keys, or anything meant to help anyone cheat.
- Someone else's private information — their phone number, address, records or photographs — without their permission.
- Spam, scams, or advertising.
- Anything unlawful.
8. Accuracy of Your Records
The records you see in the app — your attendance, marks, library dues, hostel and transport records, and any other services your campus or institute offers you through the app — are created and maintained by your institute. We show them to you; we do not decide what they say.
- If something looks wrong, raise it with your institute. We cannot change an academic record on our own.
- We are not responsible for academic, financial or disciplinary decisions your institute makes, or for the consequences of a record being wrong or out of date.
- Do not treat the app as your only source for anything that matters. For anything with a deadline or a consequence — an exam date, an attendance shortfall — confirm it with your institute.
9. Notifications
Notices from your institute may reach you as push notifications. Delivery depends on your phone, your network and Google's notification service, so a notification may be delayed or may not arrive at all. Do not rely on notifications alone. We never send notifications about Alvara Private Network activity.
10. Fees
You pay nothing to Alvara. Your institute pays for Alvara. The app has no in-app purchases, payment processing, or subscriptions for students. Any fee or dues records you see in the app are maintained by your institute, and any financial matters are strictly between you and your institute.
11. Availability and Changes to the App
- We work to keep the app available but we do not promise it will always be, or that it will be free of faults. There may be maintenance, outages and bugs.
- Features may be added, changed, restricted or withdrawn at any time, by us or by your institute. A feature being visible today does not mean it will be there tomorrow, and a feature existing for one institute does not mean it exists for yours. You do not have an entitlement to any particular feature.
- App updates. Some updates are optional and can be dismissed to install later. For critical bug fixes, security patches, or compatibility changes, we may require a mandatory update — you will need to update to the minimum supported version to continue using the app.
12. Alvara Private Network
- It is entirely optional. No profile is created, and nothing about you appears in the network, until you choose to enable it.
- You must be 18 or older. We check the date of birth your institute holds for you, and we also ask you to confirm your age. If we find that someone under 18 has it enabled, we will disable it and delete their network data.
- Your institute cannot see any data in it — not your profile, posts, comments, likes, or connections. Your institute can disable the feature for its students, or limit which audiences they can post to, but it can never see the content and can never delete your network profile.
- What you post can be seen by other students on Alvara, including at other campuses, depending on the audience you choose.
- You can deactivate your network profile at any time, or delete your network data. Deleting starts a 30-day period during which you can change your mind; after that it is permanent. Only you can do this.
13. Reporting, Review and Removal
- You can report a post or a comment from inside the app. To review a report we have to read what was reported.
- We aim to review reports within 72 hours.
- If we find that something breaks these terms or the Connections Guidelines, we may remove it, hide it, or restrict or suspend the account behind it.
- If we remove something you posted, you will still see it yourself, marked as removed by Alvara. If you think we got it wrong, write to us at support@alvara.education and we will look again.
- We may act without a report if we become aware of something serious.
14. Suspension and Termination
- We may suspend or restrict your access to Alvara Private Network, or to the app, if you break these terms, if your account is being misused, or if we are required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
- Your institute may end your enrollment at any time. That is your institute's decision, not ours.
- You may deactivate your profile or delete your network data at any time. You may ask us to delete your whole Alvara account when you are not enrolled at any institute; while you are enrolled, your academic record belongs to your institute and that request goes to them.
- Sections 6 (content you provided), 8, 15, 16, 17 and 18 continue to apply after your access ends.
15. Disclaimers and Limits
- The app is provided “as is”. We do not give any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, beyond what the law requires of us.
- We are not responsible for your institute's acts or decisions, for the accuracy of the records it maintains, or for anything another student posts.
- We are not responsible for your device, your internet connection, or third-party services the app depends on.
- Limit on our liability. The app is provided to you free of charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, or loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
- You agree to be responsible for claims that arise from your own breach of these terms, or from content you uploaded that you had no right to upload.
16. Complaints
About content
If a post, comment or anything else in the app concerns you — because it is about you, targets you, or breaks these terms — report it in the app, or write to our Grievance Officer:

About your records
Anything about the content of an academic or campus record goes to your institute.
17. Our Rights in the App
The Alvara app, its design, content, and the Alvara name, logo, and trademarks belong to Alvara Education. These terms give you permission to use the app as a student — nothing more. Do not copy the app, use our logo or trademarks, resell it, or present it as your own.
18. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the “Last updated” date and version above change, and if the change is significant we will tell you inside the app. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
